  1. MSAC: Palestine and Israel in Film: A 6-Week Series

    March 19, 2018, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Montpelier Senior Activity Center

MSAC member Kathy Shapiro and Mark Hage screen six films dealing with the history of the State of Israel and the occupation of Palestinian territory (West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights) that continues to the present time. Films will be a mix of documentaries and dramas with a short introduction prior and discussion following. The objective is to increase awareness of the history that has led to the current situation, and to provide space for civil and respectful discussion of multiple viewpoints. There is no political agenda to the series, no recruitment to any organization, movement or point of view. All events are free and open to the public. Donations to MSAC are appreciated. No advance registration is required.  For more information on the series, visit For information on the films that will be shown, call 223-2518.

  2. MSAC: A Conversation with Nina Thompson

    March 26, 2018, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Montpelier Senior Activity Center

Nina founded the Wake up to Dying Project (WUTD) which was an awareness and action campaign encouraging people to think and talk about dying through stories, art and opportunities to engage. Nina drew her vision for the WUTD from her years as a business consultant, event organizer, hospice volunteer, and Zen Buddhist practitioner. WUTD has recently ended though the first person audio stories live on and Nina has returned to business consulting with a focus on end-of-life projects. She also offeres guidance and coordination to individuals, who along with their families and friends, are navigating end-of-life. Nina has generously shared her expertise with MSAC this year as we offer programming related to death, dying and life. Join us for a chance to learn more about Nina’s pioneering work in the field and to discuss what is happening in the growing end-of-life movement.
