Planning & Community Development: Neighborhood Re-Zoning Meeting
The city is in the process of undertaking a major revision to our zoning and subdivision ordinance to bring it into compliance with the new Master Plan. One of the key zoning recommendations in the Master Plan is to develop neighborhood development standards for each area of town. We would like to work with the residents and businesses to design these standards, so that new development that is proposed meets your needs and fits into the existing fabric of the community. This is not a license to stop development - the City Council has set some clear goals about encouraging more housing in Montpelier. But it is a chance to make sure that everyone benefits from the new development that will be permitted.
We are planning three meetings in each neighborhood.
