Building Inspector & Health Officer
The Building Inspector has two primary tasks: (1) reviewing and providing support for construction jobs in the City and (2) inspecting current buildings. The Health Officer works under the authority of the Vermont Department of Health.

Cemeteries
The City of Montpelier manages Green Mount Cemetery and Elm Street Cemetery.
|
Community Justice Center
The Montpelier Community Justice Center improves community health and safety by helping people whose lives are disrupted by conflict or crime. We recognize the potential for citizens to live in harmony with their neighbors and contribute to the civility and well-being of the community.

Finance
The Montpelier Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the accounting, payroll, payables, receivables, and insurance and billing programs for the City of Montpelier.

Fire & Ambulance
Full-time personnel support the prevention activities and provide the initial response to emergency incidents as they occur. The Department also provides Emergency Medical Services to the community.

Montpelier Parks
The Montpelier Parks Department manages Hubbard Park, North Branch Park, Elm Street Park, and the Peace Park on the Montpelier Recreation Path.

Planning & Community Development

Police
The Montpelier Police Department is devoted to providing professional and quality police services, and will strive to remain effective, efficient, and responsive to the changing needs of our community while providing a safe environment that enhances the quality of life in Montpelier.

Public Works
The Public Works Department is the largest of City departments and is responsible for providing a variety of services to the residents of Montpelier.

Recreation Department
The Montpelier Recreation Department is a separate organization and is not an actual department of the City of Montpelier.
