    Pedestrian Friendly City

    V
isitors to Montpelier will be struck by the number of pedestrians in the downtown area and the concern they are afforded. Montpelier is a very compact city which is conducive to people wanting to walk or to shop. Montpelier drivers are extremely conscious of people using cross-walks which avoids the necessity of numerous traffic lights. Once parked in the downtown, nearly all of Montpelier is within short walking distance.
