The City Council, at their December 7th, 2012 meeting, voted to appoint a temporary committee to initiate a redistricting process, the goal being to determine the census population by voting district and possibly recommend new district boundaries. An approximate six-month time commitment is anticipated; some lead work has been done already. If you are a Montpelier citizen interested in becoming part of the committee, please submit a letter of interest by Thursday, February 16th, 2012 to the City Manager’s Office,
39 Main Street, Montpelier, Vermont 05602, or via e-mail to Sandy Pitonyak. City Council hopes to appoint this committee at their February 22nd meeting. Applicants will be notified and encouraged to attend; all meeting rooms and facilities are accessible and all meetings are held in accordance with the public meeting and public records laws.
