Project Description:
School zone safety and pedestrian enhancement project in the vicinity of the Main Street Middle School (MSMS) located approximately 200 feet northeasterly of the VT Route 12/Main Street roundabout intersection, extending 1,700 feet along Main Street (Town Hwy # 8) to the Main Street/Loomis Street intersection and the designated school zone in the neighborhood surrounding the Union Elementary School (UES) located approximately 1,000 feet southerly of the MSMS school zone.

Scope of Work:
Work to be performed includes granite curbing installation, sidewalk construction, drainage systems, bituminous concrete paving, crosswalk improvements, signs, electrically-operated school zone flashers and radar speed detection/display units with signs, the purchase and delivery of in-street pedestrian crossing signs, and miscellaneous work and clean-up including lawn restoration.

Bidding and Contract
  • The bid period is now closed.
  • Contract has not been awarded
  • All bids have been rejected due to bid irregularities in accordance with Vermont Agency of Transportation guidelines.
  • The project will be re-advertised for bids for construction during the 2011 season.
