CITY OF MONTPELIER
NOTICE TO ALL WATER AND SEWER UTILITY CUSTOMERS
The City Council approved an increase in water rates and sewer rates effective July 1, 2008. The increased cost of chemicals, fuel, utilities and debt service for the capital improvements requires the rates to increase to support these key City services.
Rates will change for the next quarter’s billing. For the next four quarters the rates will be:
WATER:
| First 50,000 gallons |
$ 7.29 per 1,000 gallons |
| Next 200,000 gallons |
$ 7.74 per 1,000 gallons |
| More than 250,000 gallons |
$12.55 per 1,000 gallons |
Quarterly “ready to serve” water fee will increase from $19.50 to $20.50
SEWER:
$8.22 per 1,000 gallons of water used
Quarterly “ready to serve” sewer fee will increase from $24.50 to $26.00
Customers that are sewer only “flat rate” users are charged $150 quarterly.
- If you have questions about your bill, believe your bill is incorrect or if you think you may have a leak, please call Loretta at 223-9500 as soon as possible so corrections can be made. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DUE DATE.
