Announcement of Retirement with 40 Years Service

Francis Brooks has been around the City of Montpelier in a number of roles, including school teacher, state legislator, and as Sergeant at Arms at the State House. However, his longest run was forty years with the Montpelier Fire Department. From 1969 through 1994 he was an active Call Firefighter and since then has served as the department public information officer at major incidents. He is retiring on October 31, 2009 after more than 40 years of service.

The Fire Department wishes him and his family all the best in the years to come. We will miss his friendly smile and down to earth wisdom. We invite him to drop in and say “Hi” anytime he is passing by.
Gesualdo C Schneider
Fire Chief
