The City of Montpelier has received the coliform test results from the water samples taken yesterday and all three tests indicate the absence of coliform bacteria.  This mean that the water is acceptable for consumption.  In addition, three chlorine residual samples were taken the upper elevations of the water system and it was shown that sufficient chlorine was available for disinfection.  Based on this information, the City is ending the precautionary boil water notice.
