Temporary Committee on Improving Efficiency of Montpelier's Street Lighting

The City of Montpelier is forming a new temporary committee to help it move forward in improving the efficiency of its lighting. This will involve both eliminating unnecessary streetlights and converting remaining lights to more energy efficient technology. The committee will guide the City through the process of developing an accurate inventory of lighting, assessing lighting needs and levels, and developing a project scope and budget.

We anticipate a six-month time commitment. The committee will consist of representatives from the City's Finance, Police, and Public Works Departments, along with at least 3 citizen representatives.

If you are interested in becoming part of the committee or in learning more, please submit a letter of interest as soon as possible to the City Manager’s office, 39 Main Street, Montpelier, Vermont 05602 or to wfraser@montpelier-vt.org.
