Students on Committees

The City Council of the City of Montpelier knows the voices of our youth matter.  We not only want to hear from you, we want to give you an opportunity to get involved in your local community by serving as a student member of one of the our City boards or commissions.  Check below to see what committees are currently seeking youth members.

Why should you apply to be on a committee?

  • Great way to connect your interests with important issues facing our city
  • Make a difference and work to solve problems in your community
  • Gain experience working collaboratively with others
  • Volunteer opportunity to add to your resume and prepare you for work environments

What's the commitment? It is typical that board members meet once or twice per month in the evenings. Terms will last for one year.

How do you apply?  Before applying, we recommend checking out the committee websites below and even attending a meeting.  When you find a committee you're interested in, you can submit our online application.  Access the application by clicking this link.  Applications are due on December 1st.
