Micro -grants: The Montpelier Public Art Commission is eager to award micro-grants (up to $1500) to Vermont- based visual artists or artist teams for permanent or temporary art installations, whether two or three-dimensional, throughout the City of Montpelier. This RFP is open for an indefinite period and artists may submit at anytime during the year. The commission will review and award grants twice yearly with deadlines of October 31 and March 30. Montpelier I-89 Interstate bridge on the concrete piers: The Montpelier Public Arts Commission is eager to select and award grants to Vermont-based visual artists, or artist teams, for designing and painting murals below the Montpelier I-89 Interstate bridge on the concrete piers within the new Gateway Mural Park. The Commission will review, select and award up to 2 grants of $1,500, based on the Commission’s jury process and the requirements of the State Agency of Transportation. Selected works will be documented, promoted, and included in the Montpelier Art Walk and other city-wide arts events.

Montpelier Private Building Owners: The Montpelier Public Art Commission offers to award matching grants of up to $10,000 per project to Montpelier City building owners to team up with artists for murals or other art installations on their building property. The commission is open to varying media and styles; however, successful submissions must be accessible to the public in the center of Montpelier or in a high traffic area and have a positive effect. Selected works will be documented, promoted, and included in the Montpelier Art Walk, future Art Map, and other city-wide arts events
