The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was first detected in Montpelier in 2018. The red stars on this map indicate where EAB has been captured in green traps deployed by Tree Board personnel. The black stars indicate trees that were found to be infested with EAB and were removed and chipped. The green stars indicate ash trees that have been treated with an insecticide that protects those trees from infestation by EAB. The trees were treated by the Department of Parks and Trees personnel. As more information becomes available, this map will be updated.
