A HUD Special Purpose Grant was used to fund infrastructure improvements to support commercial redevelopment of the 9 acre railroad yard adjacent to the Winooski River. These improvements include relocating an active railroad line, construction of a new road and a section of the Winooski East Bike Path, installation of street lights and underground power, extension of water and sewer lines, and the creation of additional parking spaces. Another 4 sites, including 2 railroad structures, are also being made available for development by private developers.
