Reserve a Shelter

If you would like to reserve one of our two Hubbard Park shelters for a group smaller than 100 people, please fill out the Shelter Reservation Form.

For groups of 100 people or more, please fill out the online Large Event Permission Form and submit it at least 6 weeks in advance of your planned event. This will give the Parks Commission enough time to review the request and notify the group of their decision. Large groups are also often asked to rent and provide their own port-a-potty, especially if they will be using the shelter for several hours.

Submitting one of these online forms will get you the most timely response, but if you strongly prefer to reserve over the phone, you can call the Community Services Office at 802-223-7335. Making a phone request is slower and requires mores staff time, so we encourage people to use the online forms.

Rules for the Use of Reserved Shelters

  1. We discourage the use of glass at any event held at one of our shelters. There are a lot of "little hands, feet and paws" that come through the parks and we want to avoid the possibility of anyone getting hurt.
  2. Reservations are limited to a 4 hour time block.
  3. Reservations are posted on the monthly calendar displayed in each of the shelter kiosks. If you find someone using the shelter when you arrive, please reference the calendar to let them know that you paid to reserve the shelter in advance.
  4. Montpelier Parks has a Carry in - Carry out policy. When holding an event, Please make sure you take all trash and belongings with you when you leave. Please be responsible and leave the shelters as clean or cleaner than when you arrived. Please help keep our parks beautiful!
  5. Montpelier Parks are all designated non-smoking areas.
  6. Groups of 100 people or more require special permissions (see the Online Group Permission Form, above).
