TAX BILL

City of Montpelier property tax bills are sent out in mid-July each year. This is the only tax bill that property owners will receive. If property is sold, the tax bill should be given or forwarded to the new owner at the time of the closing.

Tax installments are due quarterly on August 15th, November 15th, February 15th, and May 15th.  If the payment date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, the payment is due the first business day after the weekend or holiday.

Tax payments must be received in the City Clerk-Treasurer’s office or in the drop box at City Hall prior to midnight on the due date.
