Community Education and Dialogue

The Montpelier Community Justice Center provides readily available assistance to the Montpelier community, at little or no cost, for learning and talking about issues related to justice and conflict resolution.

We regularly provide the following classes that are open to the community.

  • Insights Into Conflict is a five-hour class delivered in two parts that helps people think about how they respond to conflict, the choices available to them, and the consequences of those choices.
  • Parenting With Respect is a ten-week series designed specifically for fathers who have committed criminal or abusive acts. This class focuses on what children need from their fathers, how their acts and / or incarceration may have affected their children and what they can do to contribute to a healing process and support their children’s healthy development. This class is more focused on developing a child-centered perspective on parenting than on skills building.
  • We are available to provide a presentation or class related to conflict resolution or restorative justice that is specific to the needs of a particular group of people or organization. Talk with us about your needs.

We have experienced facilitators on staff who can help organize, host, and / or facilitate a forum that actively involves participants in dialogue and problem solving.
