Looking for Summer Pool Staff!
The Montpelier Recreation Department is seeking seasonal pool staff for the municipal swimming pool this summer. Full and part-time positions are available. Staff will start work beginning the first week of July and ending August 22. There will be pre-season training prior to the start of the pool season. Training dates to be announced. Responsibilities would include supervising patron activity in and around the swimming pool, teaching swimming lessons, and front desk responsibilities. Applicants who do not hold a current Lifeguard certification could be accepted contingent on successful completion of a lifeguard course prior to the pool opening date. Mondays - Fridays:
- Morning Lap Swim (Must Hold a Season Pass): 7:00 - 8:00 am
- General Swim: 1:00 - 4:15 pm
- Family Swim: 4:30 - 7:00 pm
Saturdays & Sundays:
- General Swim: 1:00 - 5:30 pm
SPECIAL NOTE: Family swim requires an individual to be entering 9th grade or they must be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older. Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children 4 and under must have an adult IN the water with them.
UNSCHEDULED POOL CLOSINGS: The pool and deck area will be cleared for a period of 30 minutes anytime lightning is detected within a 20 mile radius of the pool. Patrons will be allowed to re-enter the pool once 30 minutes has elapsed without re-occurrence of thunder or lightning. If storm conditions continue and there is no immediate sign of weather clearing, the pool will close for the day.
