Energy Advisory Committee

MEAC was founded in 2010 to act in an advisory capacity to the Montpelier City Council on energy issues.  Specifically, it was charged with identifying and nurturing potential energy saving projects and opportunities; informing and engaging city residents on energy issues with a special focus on building weatherization; and partnering with other statewide groups such and the Energy Action Network (EAN) and Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) to foster long term, far reaching  projects, goals and developments that will ultimately serve to either reduce Montpelier’s energy use or actively meet its energy needs from renewables.
